HELLO!
Welcome to Ihana Productions, an independent film production company based in London, UK run by married duo Vonnie Larsson and Kieran L. Smith who met and fell in love in film school and have done nothing but talk and live for film since. We are dedicated to collaborating with emerging talent and independent filmmakers, championing creative freedom and growth. In 2022, we proudly produced and sold "Grandma's Bread" (Mummun leipä) in partnership with Words by Huhta and after a successful partnership we released Alias Tornedalen, a 4-episodic documentary series about women in Tornedalen Sweden and their expressive and intriguing aliases. As we look forward to an exciting 2025, currently in pre-production with Alias season 2 and developing both feature and documentary content we are looking at en exciting 2026.
Vonnie Larsson

Vonnie Larsson is from a small town in the north of Sweden with her roots in Tornedalen bordering to Finland and has found her way to England after a near decade of travel and studying. She received a BA (hons) in filmmaking from Brighton University where she graduated with 7 short films, three of which were successful in short film festivals such as Manchester Cinefest. In 2022 she debuted with the short film Grandma's bread which focuses on the underrepresented region of Tornedalen and its women, it was chosen as 1 of 8 projects in “Young voices in the north” by filmpool nord and was bought up by Swedish Educational Broadcasting Company for their 2024 short film slate.
Her documentary series Alias Tornedalen (2024) exploring four women premiered to great success resulting in a second season in 2024 and in 2025 her 60 minuter documentary "The die-hard village" exploring the survival of a nordic village, its newer foreign residence and it's much complex and darker past, this will be release to festivals in 2025 and screening on TV in 2026.
Kieran L. Smith

Kieran L. Smith is from a working-class family in Bournemouth where he grew up around people from all walks of life. His interest in filmmaking was born at age seven when watching Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction and has gone on to become an expert in various film genres – most of all British social realism. In 2019, he graduated with a BA-degree from Brighton Film school with a total of 7 short films in his portfolio and decided to carry on his education at UAL because he wanted to push his creative abilities at the best film school in London.
In 2022 he made "Punchbag" a powerful short film about toxic masculinity and he is following up with a critique and view of family and communal relationships in this film.
Kieran is currently writing a 6-part series that explore the working class culture of working men's pubs that will follow up on the short film "Cola, With a Shot of Cherry" Shooting in 2025.
